On May 28, 1981, the opening of the museum of Yury Tynyanov took place in Rezekne Secondary School No.6

The founders of the museum are Anna Vlasyevna Ulanova and her daughter Tatyana Mikhailovna Sinelnikova, who collected exhibits and solved organizational issues, and Anton Rantsan, who designed the museum. Invaluable assistance in the creation of the museum was provided by Y. N. Tynyanov’s friend Veniamin Aleksandrovich Kaverin, the writer’s sister Lydia Nikolaevna Tynyanova and his daughter Inna Yuryevna.

From the very first days of the museum’s existence, the guides were schoolchildren who introduced the visitors of the museum to the life and literary heritage of Tynyanov. The museum has been working under the leadership of T. M. Sinelnikova for the fourth decade.
